SXSW roundup
This year I was lucky enough to get out to Austin, Texas for my first ever SXSW. I was there primarily because SoundCloud was nominated in the music category at Adobe’s SXSW Web Awards. I stuck around for 2 days of the music festival as well.
What struck me was how much more I enjoyed the Interactive conference than I did the music festival. Somehow I got a bigger kick out of watching Chris Anderson and Gary Vaynerchuk on stage than I did watching countless indie bands. I think a big factor though was all the amazing new people I met and all the great conversations I was able to take part in. There were still plenty of musical highlights however, most notably Little Boots, Micachu & The Shapes and Alice Russell.
Perhaps the biggest highlight of the whole trip however was getting interviewed by Jemima Kiss for The Guardian’s Tech Weekly Podcast - I’m a big fan
