Welcome to the Digital Music Insider blog. This is my first post ever and hopefully just one of many to come. This blog will cover many topics but focuses primarily on the ever change digital music market place and will provide inside tips for labels, artists, stores and marketers on how to make the most of this exciting new environment to sell, discover and feature music… from the smallest artist and indie labels up to the majors.

I will be trying to cover stories and provide insights which will be of interest to everybody, not just ranting on about the latest micro-changes to the iPod range or the most recent mega-star to give away their music in an online auction that you can only connect to from your local coffee chain whilst poking your mates and reading a copy of an awful newspaper in a virtual web 3.0 world…

Hopefully i can provide some information that is both useful at a practical level and a pleasure to read on a regular basis.

Along the way there will be tips for labels and artists on how to maximise their digital revenues, music store profiles, a few marketing ideas, some suggested listening and maybe even a handful of random thoughts on other bits of technology that affect my daily life.
